HidróxidoLos Hidróxidos resultan de la combinacion de un Oxido con el Agua. Los hidróxidos tambien se conocen con el nombre de bases ; estos compuestos son sustancias que en solucion producen iones oxhidrilos.

OxidoUn óxido o anhídrido es un compuesto químico que contiene uno o varios átomos de oxígeno, presentando el oxígeno un estado de oxidación -2, y otros elementos. Por ejemplo son óxidos el óxido nítrico, NO, o el dióxido de nitrógeno, NO2. Los óxidos son muy comunes y variados en la corteza terrestre. También son llamados anhídridos porque son compuestos que han perdido una molécula de agua dentro de sus moléculas. Por ejemplo el anhídrido carbónico:

deriva del ácido carbónico:
:H2CO3.
Los óxidos se pueden sintetizar normalmente directamente mediante procesos de oxidación, por ejemplo, con magnesio:
::2Mg + O2 → 2 MgO.
O bien con fósforo:
:: P4 + 5O2 → 2 P2O5
Según sus propiedades ácidas se clasifican en:
- Óxidos ácidos; por ejemplo el dióxido de carbono, CO2.
- Óxidos básicos; por ejemplo el óxido de calcio, CaO.
- Óxidos anfóteros; por ejemplo el dióxido de titanio, TiO2, o el óxido de aluminio (III), Al2O3.

Onder deze merknaam bouwde Coventry Bicycles lichte 170 cc tweetakten, waarvan de cilinderinhoud in 1924 op 204 cc gebracht werd. De machientjes hadden ook pedalen. Het bedrijf werd opgericht door de heren Barbary en Downes, voormalige werknemers van Hobart. Zij gebruikten het motorblokje dat ook al in de McKenzie- en Hobart-autocycles dienst had gedaan.
